Office of Research Compliance

Northern Illinois University is committed to promoting and fostering research and creative activities for the university and scholarly communities through the Division of Research and Graduate Studies. The Office of Research Compliance (ORC) at NIU was established to help researchers, and the University as a whole, to achieve and maintain ethical principles and maintain compliance with federal, state, and university regulations governing research.  The Office acts as a liaison between the Vice President for Research (the Institutional Official designated with oversight of compliance) and the various committees required to monitor research activities.

The ORC has set up a resource center for the education and training of researchers. The administrative staff will be happy to answer any questions concerning the  federal regulations of research. Please feel free to contact us. We look forward to working with you.
